Rich Adams has been a valued employee of the Calumet Electronics team since October 29, 2007. His peers recently voted him the 2021 Employee of the Year due to his hard work, dedication, and great attitude.
First impressions are critical. Thanks to Rich, before a customer even steps through our doors, it’s clear that we care about every detail. As Head Groundskeeping Technician, Rich is responsible for keeping the Calumet Electronics campus looking clean and presentable year-round. From maintaining the grassy areas to removing snow, Rich goes above and beyond to keep our grounds looking world-class. And he does it all with a smile.
“Every morning when I arrive at work around 6:30 a.m., Richie is outside singing and moving snow or making the grounds around the whole building look like we’re having a grand opening,” said Michael Messner, Employee Development & Training Manager. “He takes so much pride in the way our facility looks and is always meticulously clearing entries so they’re safe for employees and customers. And when I ask how he’s doing, he replies, ‘Just wonderful! How are you?'”

Facilities Manager Butch Mattila praised Rich’s versatility, flexibility, and work ethic. “Richie is a hardworking employee who does whatever is needed each day, from janitorial duties to groundskeeping. He shovels snow, cuts grass, unloads equipment, cleans restrooms, mops floors, and so much more! He’s just an all-around hardworking employee, with a great attitude.”
As for Rich? He just appreciates the friendly atmosphere at Calumet Electronics. He said, “I love coming to work. Working outside and working with my friends…it makes the day fly by.”
