CALUMET, Mich. — Carmen Hiltunen has been a valuable member of the Calumet Electronics team since 2010!
Carmen started at Calumet in our press area as a layup operator. She was very instrumental in helping us to optimize our processes, getting the most production possible with others on her team. Soon Carmen moved into a technical position, helping sales with customer quotes. Then she focused her talents on the CAM process, doing replete jobs and planning.
Today, as the Assistant CAM Manager working the third shift, Carmen manages and assigns tooling tasks to the other planners and toolers on shift. She’s also quick to respond to issues and help requests from the shop floor.
“While most of us are fast asleep, Carmen is overseeing the nighttime operations of our CAM department,” said Michael Messner, Employee Development & Training Manager. “Her knowledge and experience are invaluable to Calumet — not only is she great at her job, she also assists and mentors new employees. Carmen is an excellent example of employee engagement and the opportunities for growth within our company.”
Although she has held a number of positions at CEC, one thing remains constant: Carmen’s commitment to doing the best she can. She appreciates the variety of experiences she has had over her twelve years with the company. “It’s hard to get bored working at CEC,” said Carmen. “There’s always something new to learn or a new problem to solve.”
We’re very grateful for engaged, experienced team members like Carmen. She’s one reason why Calumet Electronics customers can always depend on high-reliability products and on-time delivery. Thanks, Carmen — we’re lucky to have you!
