Employee Spotlight: John Block, Forklift Operator – Purchasing
CALUMET, Mich. — John Block has been a valuable member of the Calumet Electronics team since July, 2019!
As a forklift operator and a member of the purchasing team, John can often be found at the back door, receiving the essential freight that comes to the Calumet plant each week. He’s quick to respond to pages for “John Block to the loading dock!” and unloads trucks and delivers materials and supplies throughout the plant with a smile. John and his forklift are constantly on the move throughout each workday, helping operations across departments stay on track.
“The people behind the scenes aren’t often the ones who get the recognition, but they’re a really important part of making our day-to-day operations happen,” said Michael Messner, Employee Development & Training Manager. “John helps make our business run smoothly with his strong work ethic and willingness to help out on the floor whenever and wherever he can. The fact that he does it all with a smile makes him even more valuable to all of us here at Calumet.”

John loves to be outside, soaking up the natural beauty of the Upper Peninsula. His favorite downtime activities are hunting and fishing. But the thing he likes most about his work environment is his co-workers. “I really enjoy the people I work with each day,” he said.
