Employee Spotlight: Rob Swykert, Purchasing Dept.

CALUMET, Mich. — Rob Swykert, the Inventory Manager in our purchasing department, has been a valued and loyal employee for more than two decades.

Rob’s primary focus is on material, mainly laminate and prepreg. He started in shipping, but when he moved to the press department, Calumet Electronics’ VP and CPO, Elden Hendrickson Jr. noticed Rob’s capabilities to organize and keep things running and ready. He is now crossed-trained in production throughput. Rob is always willing to jump in and help, whether it’s ordering, putting product away, or driving a forklift. One of his most valuable contributions is training other employees to be consistent and efficient.

“Because of Rob’s efforts, Calumet Electronics has very dependable, safe, and consistent processes,” said Michael Messner, Employee Development & Training Manager. “Rob is instrumental in keeping a wide variety of parts in-house. We’re proud that our printed circuit boards are 100% American-manufactured, and our purchasing department is essential in ensuring we stay that way.”

Rob’s willingness to work with other vendors helps with other areas in the plant, such as Electroless and ENiG plating lines, wet supplies like chemistry, and the baskets that hold panels as they travel through the process.

“I like the company culture and enjoy the people at Calumet Electronics.”

– Rob Skykert

Thanks to Rob, Calumet Electronics continues to serve its customers as an efficient, cost-effective, 100% American-manufactured company.
